1) I am in the final week of preparing my research proposal. It seems to be coming together slowly but smoothly. Reading sucks. Oh yeah...I'm supposed to be a teacher...reading is GREAT!
2) USQ informed me today that I don't have to conduct a research project next semester, rather I can choose any graduate class in Education in order to finish up my degree. I promptly signed up for a sociolinguistic course cuz it seemed to be the most straightforward thing I could take (which means it has the easiest assignments!)
3) I appear to have f*cked up my visa by mixing up the dates on my passport and immigration card, so tomorrow promises to be one of those super annoying and stressful journeys into the heart of the immigration office. I will keep you posted, but I would say there is about a 50-50 chance of me having to take a "vacation" to get a new visa, which is not all that bad, but not the best possible scenario right now.
4) Darts league kicked off last week. We started things off with a narrow 10-9 loss though. Tomorrow night we will look to get back to .500 with a win against Hollywood's. I am preparing a motivational speech for the team, and it seems to be pretty inspirational if I do say so myself. .
5) 2007 seems to have kicked off with a lot of our local hang-outs pissing us off deeply. For an overview of places that are now boycotted, in the bad books, on the verge of being egged, and/or generally scorned, see The Goat's blog.
